Silvano Campeggi, known as Nano, painted nearly three thousand film posters after the war and up to the 1960s: Gone with the Wind, West Side Story, Casablanca, An American In Paris, Exodus, Ben Hur, just to name a few.
A prolific artist, he crossed the twentieth century with a pencil in his hand, working every single day until he was ninety-five.
He painted most American stars during the Golden Age of Cinema and of Hollywood on the Tiber. His colorful memories reveal moments like the time when Elisabeth Taylor pretended to have him as her exclusive painter, Ava Gardner invited him to follow her for six months to London or Marilyn Monroe as she was about to pose for him asked him: “Maestro, should I get undressed?”.
This documentary is a love journey into his life, his profession and the iconic black and white historic footage of life and American Cinema in Italy.
